Sometimes God knows just where to touch my heart.
Contentment is something I have struggled with back and forth. Especially as a writer. I WANT to write more stories. I WANT to find sweet success. I WANT to have as many followers as Lysa Terkeurst or Stormie Omartian. I WANT to have that breakthrough novel contract. And the list can go on and on...
But sometimes, I have to scale back and look at the big picture.
God has given me two bestselling books. God has provided a small extra income that covers those "extras" in life. God has given me an incredible amount of success as an Indie author. God has given me nearly 600 FB followers whereas I started out with only 100. And God will provide that breakthrough novel contract. ;) (when His timing in right)
When I read this verse from Philippians, I knew God had whispered in my ear and reminded me, "Hey, I've got your back. And I will provide all your needs." So why should I burden myself with unnecessary worry and stress?
Philippians 4:11 "Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to me content."
So while I'm waiting, I'm just gonna sit back, pray this prayer, and be content in this beautiful work and life HE's blessed me with. Because...GOD IS.
